New Reference Center for Delta4
Celebrating a new Delta4 Reference Center! We proudly welcome Hospital Central de la Defensa Gómez Ulla as a new ScandiDos and Delta4 Reference Center. As a leader in radiotherapy and a hub for innovation, HCD Gómez Ulla stands out for its dedication to driving research and advancing best practices in radiotherapy QA.
As a Delta4 reference center, HCD Gómez Ulla will serve as a key site for demonstrating best practices in the use of the Delta4 product suite, supporting other institutions in optimizing their quality assurance (QA) processes. The hospital’s comprehensive QA setup with Delta4 Phantom+, HexaMotion, and Delta4 Insight for secondary 3D dose calculation enables fast, reliable QA processes. This system provides robust data and insights to support the HCD Gómez Ulla´s commitment to advancing radiotherapy practices.
“At HCD Gómez Ulla, we are committed to setting a new standard for precision and quality in radiotherapy treatments,” said Francisco Javier San Miguel Avedillo, Head of the Medical Physics Department. “With our expertise and the advanced tools provided by ScandiDos, we can confidently verify and enhance the accuracy of our treatments while contributing new insights to the radiotherapy community through research.”
Earlier this year, HCD Gómez Ulla hosted a successful user meeting, gathering clinical experts and medical physicists from across Spain to share experiences with the Delta4 Phantom+, a widely used solution for QA in cancer treatments at over 800 clinics worldwide. This event highlighted the hospital’s role as a hub for knowledge exchange and innovation.
“Working with HCD Gómez Ulla means collaborating with a forward-thinking institution that leads by example—sharing best practices, driving research, and inspiring the broader radiotherapy community,” said Gustaf Piehl, CEO, ScandiDos. “We are honored to partner with HCD Gómez Ulla and look forward to supporting their work.”
